Banished by Heatherstar
After Hollowsight's witness of Littletusk attempting to force himself on Mossfrost, and after he kills Littletusk for the attempted act, Heatherstar has banished Hollowsight. And, in her anger, has foolishly banished her only medicine cat, Duskpoint, as well.
DUSKPOINT- dark gray-brown tabby tom with a dark mask, tail, and paws; large golden eyes
HOLLOWSIGHT- white tom with blind pinkish red eyes
LITTLETUSK- skinny pale cream tom with protruding upper fangs
MOSSFROST- dark gray and white she-cat with blue eyes
HEATHERSTAR- pale ginger and white she-cat with large blue eyes
HOLLOWSIGHT- white tom with blind pinkish red eyes
LITTLETUSK- skinny pale cream tom with protruding upper fangs
MOSSFROST- dark gray and white she-cat with blue eyes
HEATHERSTAR- pale ginger and white she-cat with large blue eyes
Duskpoint watched, still agitated, as Hollowsight continued to lick the blood off his paws and muzzle, as if cleaning off after a good meal. The medicine cat's tail lashed, and the tips of his ears burned cold. He'd never thought the cat had it in him. Hollowsight had never even stood up for himself, much less for another cat. And he had never, in all his life, stood up to Littletusk. Yet... here they were. Duskpoint and his little brother, banished from RiverClan territory, all because Hollowsight had done exactly that.
"Why did you do it?" Duskpoint rumbled, voice soft as a breeze.
Hollowsight's veiny ear tilted toward Duskpoint. "He was going to hurt her," he slurred. "She didn't want to sleep with him. I told him to leave her alone but he wouldn't." The tip of his tail twitched lightly. "Now he'll never try to hurt any cat again."
"But you killed him," hissed Duskpoint. "He was your littermate. Your closest brother."
"Does that matter?" growled Hollowsight, turning his empty bloodshot gaze onto Duskpoint. For a moment, Duskpoint swore his blind brother could see him recoil. "Half the clan is my brothers and sisters. Besides. You're the closest brother I know." He returned to bathing.
"But..." Duskpoint forced himself to relax. "Clanmates... aren't supposed to kill other clanmates, Hollowsight. That's wrong."
"It's wronger to let someone else get hurt when you can stop it," grunted Hollowsight, his tone sharp. He pawed at the ground, head dipped. "The least she could have done is thank me."
"Well, now Heatherstar is angry with both of us," mewed Duskpoint, rising to his feet. He padded over to his brother's side. "No matter what you did... I'm still with you. I think your heart's in the right place." He sat down and lay his tail over Hollowsight's fluffy white shoulders.
"Did you see it?" Hollowsight mumbled. "The look on Mossfrost's face. She sounded mad at me. Was she mad?"
Duskpoint's ear twitched. "I think she was shocked, mostly. She may get over it. I don't think she liked Littletusk any more than the rest of us, even if he was her mate."
The brothers sat in silence for a while, staring out into the forest beyond. Then Hollowsight spoke. "Whaddo we do now?" he mewled.
Duskpoint swallowed a lump in his throat, unsure of how to answer. He wanted to comfort Hollowsight--- let him know that everything would be OK. But without a riskless plan in mind, he could not. He narrowed his eyes. "I'll think of something," he mewed. "I'll ask StarClan for guidance. They'll know what to do. But for now, we need a shelter."
